Transition® lenses lighten and darken based on UV conditions (sunlight) and temperature. In sunlight - they darken. Inside - they lighten. Unlike glass photochromic lenses, they are not sensitive to temperature changes and will not darken in colder temperatures or lighten in extremely hot conditions. L & S Lens Tracing Unit
One of our most significant additions to L & S Optical over the past year has been a computerized, state-of-the-art Lens Tracing Unit. In the past, when you needed to replace the lenses in your frame, we had to send your frame to the lab and you were without it for a week. The Lens Tracing Unit is a device that traces an exact pattern of your lens and then digitizes the image so that it can be sent by computer directly to the lab to make your new prescription. This allows you to use your old prescription while the new lenses are manufactured.
